What can I say? It's actually pretty good to go to the airport at 6am, since you arrive at your destination with stuff you can do, rather than just waste £20 on a night's sleep. It's very frustrating.
There was little else to do other than walk around a soggy town centre, then end up back at the hostel, which I'd already checked out of so had to sit in the reception on the internet.
Well, time passed, and eventually I decided it was about time to get to the airport. I chose the cheapest option, a local train that stopped at the airport, for 102kr. It was a lovely train, and even had Wi-Fi, which put me in a good mood.
Alas, when I reached the airport and went through check-in, my mood soured immediately: new time for my place, nearly 2 hours late. Brilliant. Just what I needed. So that meant that I would be unlikely to reach the hostel until at least midnight. Not to mention that the final part of my journey to the hostel would be on foot, for a couple of kilometres, at around midnight. Not something I want to do, while carrying all my stuff in a strange city. Damn Norwegian! First the baggage nonsense, now this! And unsurprisingly for an airport, they didn't have free Wi-Fi...
It didn't get much better when we finally started boarding, either: we had to wait a while as a sick passenger from the previous flight got taken away by medical people. Sigh. We eventually got away and landed some time after 11pm, and I went to get a train to the Central Station (which, naturally, was delayed). When I emerged in Copenhagen after midnight, it was pure chaos. Drunken people everywhere, prostitutes and strip clubs on every corner... being very tired after my journey and looking like a backpacker, I really wasn't in the mood for all this.
Arriving at the hostel, I knew it was going to be especially hard because of it being in a 24 person room. It would be harder, too, as it was after midnight, so no lights. Jesus. Not a great start to my Copenhagen visit, to be honest.
